OLD MILANO FOOD TOUR
June 10, 2014 @ 19.30
Starting in Piazza XXV Aprile
The relationship between the morphology of our cities and what, how and where we consume the food seems to exist only at the time of meals. Yet, if we try to look at the configuration of streets, passages, squares, buildings and transport routes, it is possible to discover a new culinary vocabulary.
Milan has always been a city dedicated to commerce; between different goods, the food is the most commonly used, traded and consumed, and consequently the goods which gave rise to urban arrangements of unimaginable value.
The history of Milan runs parallel to that of supply, transport, packaging and food consumption. The industrialization, but also the development of the network of canals and rail connect to this story.
The Tour Of Ancient streets of Food Milanese (Milan Food Tour or Old) proposes to rediscover some aspects of Milan, watching as the population of Milan has consumed food over the years. The tour ‘classic’ we have planned for the spring and summer of 2014 starts from the Garibaldi area and extends into the old town, a path between the new buildings of Porta Garibaldi Station and the square of the ancient church of San Marco.
If you want to get more details on the Old Milan Food Tour learn about upcoming events or the possibility of doing a tour ‘tailor-made‘ contact.
Costs € 17.5 to € 30 per person and couple
